Katelynn's Book Report: Jurassic Park
Basically, Jurassic Park is about scientists who extracted the DNA from the thorax of preserved mosquitos, who then clone the DNA to create a breed of dinosaurs for a theme park. An unknown species, what was believed to be lizards, started attacking kids on the island "Isle Nublar" in Costa Rica. A lab technician thought that it might've been a dinosaur, due to the sample of the dead body that was sent to his lab at Columbia University. He decided to call Dr. Alan Grant, a paleontologist. Once he received a fax of the skeleton, he soon realizes that it actually was a dinosaur. Him and his research partner, Dr. Ellie Sattler are then flown out to the island as consultants for a bioengineering firm called InGen.
Once they arrive, they realize that John Hammond, the owner of the firm has created a park, named Jurassic Park, full of dinosaurs that were cloned. Ian Malcolm, a consultant for the firm, believes that the park is in danger. Another visitor, Dennis Nedry, is told by Biosyn Corporation, InGen's rival company, to steal 15 dinosaur embryos.
After the power being shut off, John Arnold, the park's engineer gets it to come back on again. While the power was off, everybody was scrambling around, trying not to be killed by any of the dinosaurs.
